THROWBACK - TFC

When the 2019 federal government shutdown hit, I was working at the FDA, and like so many others across the DMV, my sister and I suddenly found ourselves furloughed. We were forced to look for a way to turn a tough situation into something sweet. What began as a simple hustle to pay the bills quickly blew up—the DMV community rallied around us, and before long, our cheesecakes were taking off on CNN and The Ellen Show! Although our journey started as The Furlough Cheesecake, my dream grew far beyond those initial days; today, as Darling Nikki’s Desserts, I am still in the kitchen, pouring my heart into every single handcrafted batch.
